I started as a Junior Research Fellow of UGC at Jadavpur University, followed by Senior Research Fellow of the same university. Then I joined a public sector bank as an Economist (in the scale of a Manager), and then to a Development Finance Institution (DFI) as a Manager (Finance). In these two financial institutions I worked in areas like asset-liability management, risk management, project financing, infrastructure financing, industry and company analysis, policy analysis (impact of monetary policy on the business of bank/financial institution) etc. as been into teaching since 2002.

•  Value Chain Analysis of Marine Fishery Sector in West Bengal – sponsored by IFAD, World Food Programme – completed in 2008 – involved as the Team Leader.
• A WTO Cell to advise the Government of West Bengal has been created at the Kolkata Campus in 2007 with seed money provided by the Govt. of West Bengal to advise iskenderun escort the Government of West Bengal on matters related to foreign trade, WTO and specific sectors of the state’s economy. Involved in the process as a team member – continuing.
•  Participated actively in Entrepreneurship Development in the Greater Mekong System (GMS) Region and participated as a resource person & faculty & organizer in the programme organized in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in January 2009.
•  Value Chain and Export Competitiveness of India’s Handicrafts (select items), sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India – completed in January 2010.
•  Monitoring of Indo-Singapore CECA (Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement) – project sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India – involved as the Team Leader – continuing.
•  Analysis of Handicrafts Exports of Vietnam – sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India – completed in January 2011.
•  SPS barriers to India’s exports of fresh fruits, vegetables and fish and fish products – for the Planning Commission, Govt. of India – completed in 2006.
•  Indo-ASEAN FTA and the Threats and Opportunities for West Bengal – supported by FICCI – completed in 2008.
•  India-EU FTA – advisor to the Government of West Bengal in Stakeholder Consultation Meetings organized by UNCTAD India – completed in 2009.
•  Geographical Identification of Products in West Bengal – sponsored by the Department of Commerce and Industry, Government of West Bengal – completed in 2009.
