International Trade Conclave(SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2016 DUBAI)

The International Trade Conclave, 2016 was hosted by IIFT on 24th September, 2016 in Dubai. It was inaugurated by Anurag Bhushan, Consul-General of India in Dubai. Ajay Mathur, CEO of ETA commodities and head of the Dubai Chapter of IIFT was one of the chief guests at the event.

After a series of successful International Trade Conclaves in 2013, 2014 and 2015, the 2016 conclave leveraged growth of trade and investment relations between India and UAE to understand the perspective of the corporate leaders from several respected organizations of Dubai on trade and investment.

The topic of the conclave was “India-Gulf strategic partnership in trade and investment: Challenges and future roadmap”. Dr. Jaydeep Mukherjee, who was the faculty coordinator for the conclave talked about aggressive investments by India in GCC countries. Other discussions revolved around how UAE can explore investments in education, healthcare and medical tourism in India.

The conclave witnessed participation from industry leaders in trade sector and illustrious alumni of IIFT based in Dubai and UAE. The event served as a platform for leadership across domains for eminent leaders to share their business acumen and valuable opinions on select themes with the future leaders of the industry, the students of IIFT. It endeavoured to prepare a stage where ideas are thrown up for debate and discussion, where views are exchanged and the participants drew key business insights from the minds of the decision makers themselves. The structure of the summit was been designed to encompass the entire gamut of business operations, to provide a holistic view of the concept of domestic as well as international business and to ensure maximum learning.
