BLASH,The Trade Club at IIFT

Buy Low And Sell High, better known by its acronym - BLASH, is the International Trade club at IIFT Kolkata. One of the oldest clubs at IIFT, BLASH strives to bring together students who are interested to embark upon a career in Trade and assist them in exploring the multiple dimensions of International Trade through knowledge transfer sessions, competitions and workshops.BLASH is also the focal point of external engagement with organizations from the domains of Commodity Trading, Global Operations and Logistics, International Business, Shipping Services and related spheres.

The Club's Agenda:

# Model WTO - an arena where the participants get to simulate various ongoing trade disputes and negotiations at the WTO and will discuss and debate on the same to reach a consensus.
# Knowledge Series - a monthly newsletter encompassing a commodity profile, a country profile, a detailed explanation of a trade jargon and the important trade news in the month
# International Trade & Logistics Summit - Eminent speakers from the industry are invited to speak on topics related to trade and international business.
# Workshops - Experts from Metal and Agri Commodities trading impart knowledge to the batchmates.
# Commodity Trading Simulation -Batchmates will be given Moghul, an online commodities Trading platform to get them accustomed to real-time commodities trading.
# Competitions - organizing both intra (COMTRADE) and inter (OperaTrade) college competitions
# Live projects - Trade enthusiasts are given live projects from government organizations and corporates.
# Bi-weekly article, TradeBits, on current trade issues and geo-political events on various social media platforms.
