In 2005, IIFT initiated a unique programme called Social Awareness Programme (SAP) for its MBA(IB) students. The objective of SAP is to sensitize the minds of the students with social issues prevalent in the society through presentation by partner NGOs and conducting projects. This year 40 NGOs (21 NGOs in Delhi and 19 NGOs in Kolkata) were identified as partner NGOs under Social Awareness Programme. The students did their projects of about three weeks with NGOs which carried three credits. The Lists for Delhi and Kolkata NGOs are as follows:
