Marathon 1.0, convened by IIFT Kolkata on 2nd March, was a 5 Km run designed to raise awareness about breast cancer. Our guiding principle, "Color The Finish Line Pink", underscored our dedication to this vital cause. We're pleased to report that over 220 individuals registered, competing for a generous prize pool distributed across diverse categories. The event also benefited from the collaboration of esteemed NGOs, enriching our outreach efforts. A constructive partnership with the local police authority played a pivotal role in ensuring the event's smooth operation and ultimate success. Together, we advanced our mission of promoting awareness and fostering community support.

Hosted by one of the eminent B-schools in the country,
Vivaan 8.0 is a three-day event which hosts a diverse
range of summits, talks, and competitions. Eagerly
awaited by the students of all the premier Business
Schools of India, Vivaan 8.0 is an engaging and
stimulating event, with opportunities to debate and
deliberate, to apprehend and comprehend, for students
and panelists alike. As we witness India metamorphose to
its glorious future, there are some inevitable
challenges and questions that emerge. Vivaan 8.0 is an
attempt to connect students with present industry
stalwarts - to help them gain answers to the lingering
questions about the future of the India that they will
soon shoulder responsibility for.
With great pleasure, we would like to announce the
successful conclusion of the eighth edition of Vivaan,
the premier business conclave of the Indian Institute of
Foreign Trade, Kolkata. Clubs, cells, and committees, as
well as enthusiastic involvement from students and
administration, made this possible. The conclave was
spread across four days with the theme "India travels to
2047". Vivaan 8.0 saw a multitude of summits ranging
from marketing to finance to operations and supply
chain, with each one focusing on the theme of how India
strives to attain greatness and become a vishwaguru on
the eve of reaching 100 years of independence and what
obstacles it faces. They also learned about various
technological trends which would help overcome those
obstacles. The summits evoked the curiosity of the
students and helped them see things from an industry
point of view, be it pharmaceuticals to ed-tech to even
startups. On a personal level, the students got a
real-life perspective of developing specific leadership
and mind-mapping skills, and how resilient someone
should be from learning from their failures through
these summits and the presentations held. To conclude,
when India attained independence on the 15th of August
of 1947, it was not at the best of the states, yet it
overcame all those challenges to attain its current
level of development. All of these summits motivated the
student fraternity that if they want to continue this
success story, they have to contribute their best to
society unselfishly so they can raise their heads high
when the 15th of August 2047 comes, and beyond.

chance to share some memories and play those same old
songs again.

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Kolkata campus,
celebrated its 16th Campus Day on 16th July 2022 with a
lot of fun and frolic.
As students from the MBA (IB) Batches of 2023 and 2024
assembled in the auditorium along with Faculty,
Administration and Housekeeping staff, the ceremony
began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp. Next,
those who had been a part of this storied institution
right from the beginning took a trip down memory lane as
they took stock of the 16 years that had passed. These
included anecdotes of the Campus Head, Dr K Rangarajan,
as he recounted the days past. Following this and a cake
cutting ceremony, IIFT's Social Awareness Cell, Koshish,
organized a stationery-distribution ceremony for the
children of those that kept the campus running 24/7 -
the security and housekeeping staff.
Next, there was perhaps no better occasion to celebrate
the extracurricular talent of IIFT's students. Multiple
singing performances serenaded the gathering, as did an
energetic dance performance. As the proceedings drew to
a close, faculty assembled for the tree-planting
ceremony, and later everyone dispersed for a Campus
Day-special lunch.
As the day ended, there was an air of hope for the
future. We have only just begun!
